Beta Read

This level of edits is big-picture. Does the story work; are the characters interesting; do things make sense; do I like where things are going? I’ll answer this kind of question and give you an idea of how your draft looks to a reader, as well as offer my own humble opinion about any problems along the way.

Deep Read

At this level, I’ll be more scrutinizing. A draft sent in for a deep read should, ideally, have already passed through a beta reader or two and had some basic edits done. I’ll be looking for skips in logic, character inconsistencies, timeline issues, logistic practicalities, and other such in-depth goodies. Want a cursory grammar check too? We can make that happen.
